Theresa (“Terri”) Gronkiewicz, is Senior Counsel at the American Bar Association Center for Professional Responsibility, providing national leadership in developing and interpreting standards and scholarly resources in legal and judicial ethics, professional regulation, professionalism, lawyer and judicial assistance, and client protection. In her role, she serves as counsel to the ABA Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs and the ABA Standing Committee on Professionalism. Terri has devoted her entire legal career to the fields of ethics, professionalism and professional responsibility. She began as counsel with the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC), handling lawyer disciplinary complaints through all stages of the process, including appearances before the Illinois Supreme Court. She then joined a Chicago law firm, in private practice for 24 years, representing and counseling numerous lawyers, judges, and law students in ethics, risk management, disciplinary, character and fitness, and judicial conduct matters, including appearances before the various Boards of the ARDC, the Illinois Character and Fitness Committees, the Illinois Judicial Inquiry Board, and the Illinois Courts Commission.
